Volume III

•Did bodybuilding, both natural and chemical, lose its nutritional compass?

Author's Note:
I wish to express my sincere apologies to all my readers, both present and future, who have eagerly anticipated the release of Volume II of “Muscle, Smoke & Mirrors.” In the course of compiling vast amounts of historical data from a wide variety of sources (i.e. print, non-print, anecdotal sources, interviews, etc.), I’m finding that it is very difficult to predict release dates on such a large and comprehensive project. I now believe that it was naïve on my part to assume that volume II could be finished immediately after the release of volume I. In fact, the entire process has grown to such a depth and breadth that 3 volumes will be necessary. I take solace in the fact that other authors have come to the same conclusion: writing is a slow process where a single paragraph can literally take hours to complete. That’s assuming new information hasn’t come in that impacts on the paragraph’s accuracy and authenticity.
The loss of my eyesight at the beginning of 2005 also impeded my progress significantly. Modern technology is great and has allowed me to continue, but it can only do so much. Compounding the issue, other circumstances have reduced me to writing on a part-time basis. However, the remaining volumes are mapped out, with volume II very far in the works. My desire is for a release sometime in 2011, but I cannot guarantee this.
Volume III will continue from the 1990s onward carrying the sub titles:
The Fall of Modern Bodybuilding and the Demise of the Global Dietary
Please be patient. I don’t want to rush the work simply to get it to press. I want to get it right. That takes time. I sincerely believe the next two books will be worth the wait. Both volumes deal with information never-before published regarding back-door politics and intrigue in bodybuilding. The release will be announced on this web site as well some of the main stream body building forums. Thank you for your interest and support.
Sincerely,
Randy Roach
